Eating The Same Size Meal As Your Husband Might Be Stalling Your Weight Loss!

The majority of the time most people eat a fairly decent diet, the big issue with a lot of people is portion control.

Let me just break it down, in order to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit and eating the same size meal as your husband might be stalling your weight loss, without you even knowing.

A calorie deficit is created when we consume less calories a day then the energy we burn a day, resulting in weight loss if you are in a consistent calorie deficit for a period of time.

One of the easiest ways to create a calorie deficit is to look at the size of your meals and also the food you choose to eat.

A man normally tends to need more calories then a women for various reasons, men tend to be bigger, they tend to carry more muscle tissue, not quite so much nowadays but men sometimes have a more active or demanding jobs physically then women, like I said that has changed a lot in the modern world but can still be the case in a lot of family's. These factors all mean the man will need to consume more calories then women.

In some cases though the women may need to eat more for example. If the man has an office job, is very inactive and the women has a very active job, exercises frequently, maybe is even an athlete of some sort. Then these are the factors that may alter that. But genetically men tend to need more calories daily then women.

If you have the exact same food and portion size as your husband there is a high chance you are going to struggle to be In a calorie deficit to lose weight.

What to do?

This could be make or break for you, this could be the one reason you really struggle. The best thing to do is have a slightly smaller portion size to your husband. How do you measure that? A simple way is to use your hands as size guides.

One palm size of protein, one fist size of carbs and half a plate (two palms) of veg/salad.

Don't give your husband a extra big portion so that you can have a slightly smaller one, that's actually a big portion. That's just cheeky!

I hope this helps, if you have any questions or want any help pop me an email.
